A few important things to know first.

You can purchase anti-virus software at any major retailer or download it from the vendor’s website directly. Many vendors offer free trials available online. Important:

  • Do not download software directly from a third-party or untrusted source.
  • Before installing anti-virus software, remove any other anti-virus programs first (Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel). Multiple anti-virus programs running at once can interfere with each other’s protection.
